CEI WMF Workshop of Wholesale Market Managers – Study visit of Wholesale Market Managers from Central and Eastern Europe to Serbia – Belgrade, Čelarevo – 7-11 April, 2013.The workshop focused on Wholesale market’s influence оn improvement of competitiveness at national production level.
Representatives of wholesale markets from:
Albania (Lushnje, Korce, Shkodra),
Croatia (NWMC and Rijeka, Zagreb),
Hungary (Budapest),
Poland (Warsaw-Bronisze, Rzeszów),
Ukraine (Lviv, Kiev),
as well as distinguished guests from:
Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo),
Bulgaria (Sofia Wholesale Market),
Greece (Central Market of Thessaloniki),
Hungary (Szeged Wholesale Market),
visited the Belgrade Wholesale Market and had meetings with representatives of the Market management, representatives of the central administration, industry organizations and university circles.
The workshop participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the Belgrade Wholesale Market, its present operations and strategy for the future.
The participants learned about a investment project to be implemented in 2013. A new 10,400 sq.m. fruit and vegetable hall will be constructed to meet the requirements of the present highly competitive marketplace.
During the main workshop sessions, the Foundation representatives had presentations focusing on the current operations of their Markets.
Presentations from the Association “Fruits of Serbia”, the Republic Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Belgrade University provided a wider context for discussions on a number of the key industry issues.
The participants had an opportunity to visit “Podunavlje” a.d in Čelarevo with
appr. 2300 ha of crop production using the Sudtirol’s technology.
The Foundation official Annual Meeting on 10 April focused on the following issues:
• Formal acceptance of the Foundation new member – the Belgrade Wholesale Market
• Approval of the Foundation 2012 Financial Statement and 2012 Report on Activities
• Approval of the performance of duties of the current management Board Members
• Election of the new Management Board for a new 3-year term of office:
o President of the Management Board – Zoran Krsnik (Croatia)
o Vice President of the Management Board – Tibor Kekedi (Hungary)
o Vice President of the Management Board – Krzysztof Karpa (Poland)
• Discussion on the Foundation activities in 2013 and 2014.
