The Foundation members visited the world's leading trade fair for the fresh fruit and vegetable business. FRUIT LOGISTICA is the leading international meeting place of the fresh produce trade where approximately 2,000 companies from across the entire fresh produce value chain presented their business potential, including global players as well as small and medium-sized suppliers from all around the world.
After a 2-day visit to the exhibition site, the Foundation members had a plenary meeting to discuss the following issues:
Foundation action plan for 2008;
Priority activity in 2008 – development of the best practices in the wholesale market operational management (dedicated workshops to be organized in Poland and a plan to publish a best practice guide in 2009);
Improvement of the Foundation internal communication procedures – new secretary office to start its operations in the nearest future in order to ensure a better information flow between the Foundation regular workshops;
The Foundation members also had an opportunity to get acquainted with the most recent developments in all the Foundation member markets. A representative from Albania presented a comprehensive and detailed description concerning the current situation in Albania and the Albanian markets, including the Albanian plans for the future. The presentations were followed by a discussion related to the most relevant issues raised by all the members.
